The Arts Theatre, no stranger to musicals featuring a rock soundtrack, offers this unbeatable and unmissable musical from creator Jennifer Marsden. Knights Of The Rose offers everything someone might want from a memorable and epic musical – great music and a compelling narrative inspired by the works of iconic writers.
The West End is home to many musicals with various different inspirations – the history of great musical acts as in Thriller Live, high profile films as in Aladdin, and well known books as in Les Misérables. For Knight Of The Rose, however, press material cites the work of Shakespeare, Chaucer and Marlowe for its story’s origins, whilst some iconic rock songs form its soundtrack.
The story features knights, battles and epic struggles, with the Knights of the Rose returning home to discover a new storm brewing. These Knights have a lot at stake in this new struggle and as such events make for a gripping tale.
The musical numbers come from some classic tracks from artists like Black Sabbath, Bonnie Tyler, No Doubt and Bon Jovi, to name but a few.
With Jennifer Marsden providing the story, the show is directed by the talented Racky Plews, who has previously helmed shows at the Arts Theatre. Her credits include other high profile musicals like American Idiot and Seussical, whilst working at other venues as well as both a director and a choreographer.
Now she presents Knights Of The Rose, which plays at the Arts Theatre, after Ruthless! The Musical has completed its run, from Friday 29th June 2018.
