Each summer, with the school holidays in full swing, the West End becomes home to numerous kids shows that delight younger audiences and ensure there is plenty on offer for all ages in the capital. Over the years these productions have included everything from the Horrible Histories series to Room On The Broom, and they ensure a memorable summer for young theatregoers.
This year one of those kids shows includes The Hunting Of The Snark, which is set to play at the Vaudeville Theatre from July. With colourful characters, talented people working behind the scenes and a story plucked from poetry by Lewis Carroll, this is a recipe for big success!
The story is one of adventure and mystery, with a set of memorable characters all on the search for the titular Snark. Along the way some questions will emerge as to the Snark’s appearance and whether it really exists as our heroes - The Boy, The Butcher, The Banker, The Bellman, The Baker and The Knitting Beaver – happen upon some other curious creatures.
The story itself began life as poetry published in the 1870s from the pen of Lewis Carroll, which provides familiar beats and settings to those familiar with his work like the Jabberwocky and Alice In Wonderland. It should provide a memorable show for fans of his work and newcomers alike as the story survives the journey from the page to the stage.
The Hunting Of The Snark provides entertainment for youngsters in the summer months as it plays at the Vaudeville Theatre from Wednesday 26th July 2017.
