Over the last few decades Annie-B Parson and her Big Dance Theater company have been presenting some outstanding showcases mixing dance, music and other audio-visual treats for the senses. The most recent, 17c, already wowed audiences on the other side of the Atlantic and it now makes its way to the Old Vic Theatre in London.
17c is an exploration of 17th century MP and diarist Samuel Pepys, utilising his diaries to tell a story that delves into his infidelities, bullying nature, perversions and more.
Pepys had quite the reputation back in the 1600s and his insistence on documenting it in his diary has only allowed it to flourish in the centuries since his death.
Once again fusing the visual with music, 17c is bound to be an unmissable and memorable production on one of London’s most prestigious stages.
Annie-B Parson has built up a reputation of a different kind, winning awards and accolades for her stand-out choreography and direction. With Big Dance Theater she has presented a range of shows since the early 1990s, with recent productions including The Other Here, Man In A Case and Left Blank, amongst many others. She also received a Laurence Olivier Award-nomination in 2015 for her show Here Lies Love.
17c runs at the Old Vic Theatre from Wednesday 26th September 2018.
