The Ambassadors Theatre sets its sights on a wonderful script by Joanna Murray-Smith, memorably brought to life by the performer Bernadette Robinson, whose powers of impersonations will allow audiences to spend time with some musical icons.
Songs For Nobodies sees the Australian performer utilise the skills that have made her name as she is transformed into iconic stars like Judy Garland, Maria Callas, Edith Piaf and more, with writings and speeches mixed with songs and music. The result is something that has to be seen to be believed as one woman takes theatregoers on an unmissable journey.
Prior to its West End engagement, the show has already been seen on other stages and has amassed popular reactions in the process. So it comes to the centre of London’s theatre district ready to wow a new crowd and show-off the performing talents of Bernadette Robinson.
Robinson has built up a stellar reputation on her ability to bring to life well known female performers, with her show Pennsylvania Avenue also seeing her take to the stage in her native Australia. She comes to the West End ready to show British audiences what she has up her sleeve and they will not be disappointed.
And part of this is thanks to the writing talents of Joanna Murray-Smith, whose show Switzerland also runs at the Ambassadors Theatre over the Christmas 2018 season. The Australian playwright has also penned shows like The Female Of The Species during a long and impressive career.
So catch Songs For Nobodies when it runs at the Ambassadors Theatre from Thursday 10th January 2019 (previews from Monday 7th January 2019).
